It usually starts with a question.
Where do I find help with this? Who does this well? Who would take a chance on me? Who has a room free on Tuesday nights?
Questions like that have answers. Somebody within a few miles of you knows one. The hard part has never been that the answer doesn't exist; it's that there's no reliable way to reach the person holding it.
It was never that nothing existed.
Central Florida is full of people doing real work. Churches with space, and volunteers. Businesses with opportunities to grow and give. Nonprofits with programs and services. And neighbors who've walked the exact road you're on.
The problem is that almost none of it is findable unless you know someone who knows someone. Source FL is being built to be that someone.
You've been both.
You've been the one asking for a lead, a name, a ride, a chance. You've also been the one who knew a guy. Who had a truck free that Saturday. Who made a call that changed somebody's month and forgot about it by Friday.
Most people are both, most of the time. Source FL is being built on that: not a service that sorts people into helped and helping, but a network where the same person is usually doing both.
Wherever you are starting, there is a place for you.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
Why I started Source Florida.
My name is Simon Adams.
For the past seven years, my work has centered on connecting people, organizations, resources, and communities across philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, community organizing, programs, boards, and statewide initiatives.
Through all of it, I kept running into the same problem. There are incredible people, organizations, small businesses, programs, opportunities, and resources all around us. But finding the right one at the right moment can be unnecessarily difficult.
These are systems that even experienced, well-connected nonprofit professionals struggle to navigate, and that burden eventually falls on the person seeking help in the first place.
It's exhausting. And I believe we can do better.
It's not that our communities lack resources. It's that our communities lack real connection.
